The original plan was a 250 loosely based on a 250 GT. I even got the tank, fenders, and tool box/airbox. But then I sold the tank to someone who needed it for a restoration of the first Sebring. Meanwhile my 160 had morphed into a TS style bike, which is similar to the GT. Well, it shares valanced fenders anyway. It's a similar feel so I thought I should do something different with the 250. I found a Sport tank, and thought maybe a fully faired, street racer looking bike? And why not find a 350 engine while I'm at it? And larger forks. One thing led to another, various parts got donated to yet another project bike I'm working on, and the fun began. I've had some shouldered alloy rims sitting around for some time now. The 350 engine and 35mm forks off a Pantah showed up before Christmas. The Oldani style front brake showed up from England in January. Stainless steel spokes from Buchanan's a week later. A Mach 1 tank showed up from France in February... I've got two other projects that take higher priority than this one right now, but I am going to try to make it a roller soon so I have somewhere to ahang the parts I'm collecting for it. Progress on it will be hit and miss, I REALLY need to get back to work on the 160 and then there's the bike the 250 engine is destined for... So far I only have info on the wheels and have started a gallery for it. The other sections will become active when I get further along. |
