The suspension isn't going to be too involved. The front forks will be left stock. The rear shocks will be stolen off my 250 project if I can refinish them well enough to look good.

Front Forks:

No internal mods are being done to the forks. The only parts I replaced were the spring covers. I considered re-chroming the original parts, but noticed Domiracer had replacements for a reasonable cost. I was surprised when I got them that they were aluminum vs the original chromed steel. They looked a little ratty after having sat on a shelf for who knows how long, but polished up nicely so I'm very happy with them. I managed to scratch one up while installing the fork legs, but with a little Simichrome polish it was good to go again. They are pretty filthy in this picture and the flash highlights all the dust. They look better in real life. Yeah, I know I shouldn't be using a flash but the lighting in my shop is horrible and these aren't intended to be art quality photos anyway.

Rear Shocks:

I was going to refinish the stock rear shocks, but then realized that I was going to replace the shocks off my 250 anyway. They look a little nicer so I'm going to use them on the 160. The upper shrouds were repainted and the lower shrouds polished. They need a little touch up, the piture highlights the flaws... The chromed parts were stripped and electroplated with my trusty Eastwood kit.

I haven't figured out what I'm going to do with the top mounting bolts for the fork legs. For now I've simply cleaned off the rust but I have some stainless bolts to replace them with. I've been tossing around an idea to incorporate a tach mount on the right side. My other idea for the tach is to put it in the headlight shell instead of a speedometer... That's the shell for the 250 in the photo by the way. I'm still struggling with the electrics on the switch for the 160 shell.
